The Board of Directors consists of four members. They decide on issues related to the main goals and strategic orientation, as well as important issues related to financing, investments, acquisitions and divestments. They also like to talk about the amazing world under the water’s surface that MMT visualise.
Carl DouglasChairman of the Board
Carl has been associated with MMT since 1998, and has served as Chairman of the Board since 2005. He is also Vice-Chairman of Securitas AB and ASSA-ABLOY AB, as well as a member of the boards of directors of Latour AB and Swegon AB. These companies have a combined turnover of well over SEK 100bn and employ upwards of 350,000 people. In each of these companies, Carl and his family own a controlling percentage of the shares.
In 2004 he was awarded His Majesty the King of Sweden’s Medal 8th Order for his role in locating the Swedish Air Force DC-3 missing since 1952.
Johan BergDeputy Chairman of the Board
Johan’s background in finance serves us very well. After returning from a 4-year period in the USA, Johan has been the company’s driving force in developing an entrepreneur-operated small firm into a professional and cost-efficient, modern company.
Ola OskarssonBoard Member, Founder and Market Developer
Ola founded MMT in 1976. He holds a B.Sc. in Marine Biology and Chemistry. He has over 35 years of experience in positioning, surveying bathymetry and software development in these fields. In 2004 he was awarded His Majesty the King of Sweden’s Medal 8th Order for his outstanding skill in locating the Swedish Air Force DC-3 aircraft, missing since 1952. In the beginning of 2011, Ola was awarded the prestigious award "Entrepreneur of the Year" in Sweden, organised by Ernst & Young, and he represented Sweden in the world finals in Monaco later that year.
Ola’s motto is taken from William Shakespeare's Hamlet: “to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them”
Svante JohanssonBoard Member, Project & Chartering Director
Svante has over 20 years experience in Marine Operations. From his early days as a diver, he has always been interested in combining marine technologies with vessel operation. When given the opportunity, he still enjoys signing on vessels as captain or officer for a period of time. He holds a B.Sc. in Nautical Science and has been associated with MMT since 1997.
